If you don’t plug in, you can remove the strings at the bridge, reach inside the soundhole and with your other hand outside, gently slide the UST wire out of the saddle slot.
You’ll more than likely need a taller saddle, but many Gibsons come with too loose fitting saddles anyhow and now’s the time to get one that fits solid. With that UST wire out of the saddle slot the acoustic tone should be improved. Then improved more with a correct fitted saddle.
That LRBaggs unit is easy to remove totally, and you can find a plug for the pickup hole at the endpin area or make one, or just leave it open.

There is a LR Baggs pickup called the Hifi it will fit your endpin hole and the parts go inside under the bridgeplate, there is no UST wire in the saddle slot, in the event you want or need to plugin.

Completely agree. The saddles wiggle in the slot and fitting a bone saddle that’s more snug + removing the soft UST braid of the Baggs Element can make a noticeable difference. I also find that my J-45 Standard really prefers medium strings vs lights. What darylcrisp suggests above is totally reversible and you can just let the UST hang inside the guitar (the wire clips will hold the wire out of the way) while you determine if you prefer the sound with or without the UST.
