Default Let's try this again - Angel Eyes - jazz standard on a Martin 000-18MC

Hi guys,

here's my latest recording. Matt Dennis and Earl Brent's Angel Eyes on a Martin 000-18MC. From an arrangement by Woody Mann.

I hope you enjoy it.

Very nice playing, Doug. I see you are moving in a jazzy direction under Woody’s guidance. He is such an amazing player and teacher!

Thanks Bob! I'm been playing a few jazz arrangements for a while now from Woody and also Pat Donohue. Just for a change of pace from my usual ragtime and blues stuff.

I started studying one-on-one with Woody monthly over Zoom. It's pretty amazing how eye opening it has been so far.

Very cool, Doug. I'd love to go to his long weekend workshop in VT, but have a conflict with the dates this fall. It's on my radar for sure.

I kind of feel like he is underappreciated, both as a player and a teacher. You hear more buzz about others, but Woody is fantastic in lots of different styles!

Yes I agree. He seems to not be much of a self-promoter but he is a bit better known in Europe.
