Here's a link to the Zeus BOGO sale:

https://adkzeus.com

As to the Thor, it is (was) also BOGO but Larry posted they were about out of Thor mics to sell a couple of days ago (on Facebook). Call Larry V. for up to date info.

Another mic you may want to consider - sE electronics se4400a. Very well reviewed, built incredibly well and won't kill the pocket book

Some nice reviews at the bottom of the page:

My first thought was that a chunk of their talent left and started their own company in Austria, but that was AKG, not ADK.

I suspect someone just forgot to renew. I haven't heard nor seen a peep about ADK being in any kind of trouble and while Larry Villella, the owner, doesn't spend a lot of time in the forums, he did post on GS as recently as May 2019.

Link works now. Several sites I frequent were down for a bit this morning. Maybe they share a platform or something. I have no clue how interweb stuff works.

What link are you accessing ? because I just checked when I google "ADK microphones" I keep getting this adkmics.com for a an address but Go-daddy pops up with an expired notice. And this seem to be the the only link showing, other than dealers.

IIRC, the www.adkmic.com domain was never owned by ADK but by one of the original ADK dealers, Pro Audio Toys.

It looks like that link is only for the Zeus mic.

That 2-1 deal looks pretty sweet. For years my main guitar recording mics were an ADK A6 pair. I bought them because of how nice the Al Petteway recordings were that I was hearing on the DreamGuitar site in its early days. They weren't going to beat a Gefell pair or something in that league, but for $250 apiece, those mics were real bargains. I've also heard some versions of their Vienna and Hamburg mics along the way ...can't remember which models exactly... and I thought they sounded very good for what they cost. I was interested in a Hamburg at some point in the past but never pulled the trigger for one reason or another. That shouldn't reflect on the company though. I've only ever heard good things about them and my personal experiences with their mics have been positive. The me from 10 years ago would probably have jumped on this deal but I have no shortage of quality microphones these days.

All that said, I don't think ADK is doing themselves any favors with that video on the Zeus website. It's pretty awful.

Yeah, that's what it was. I left Larry V. a voice mail last night that the adkmic.com website was down. Looks like he got it fixed.

His new (to me) web page is really great IMO, with the Z-Mods arranged in a semicircle from density to clarity
And it is listing the 2 for 1 sale on Zeus and Thor

Thanks for the replies folks. I will post more when I am not on my phone. I Gotta say, at two for one Thor deal is tempting

Back from a few days of camping. Thinking about it some more I think one single multi pattern condenser, possibly tube, is what I want to get next. I am happy with my stereo recording setup of the two Gefell M300's. I could place a third mic in the middle, as well as use it for mid side and general recording duties with a LDC is called for.

I dont mind something with a totally different sound than my Gefells. The Warm Audio stuff looks very nice, especially their 47 and 251 model mics. I could afford to buy those new, which makes returning very easy.

Peluso also makes various models based off old standards, like the 2247, P12, and 251. Has anyone had any experience with those? With Peluso I would probably be looking at used.

Al Petteway seems to like the Miktek CV4. One thing that kind of bothers me about the Warm Audio stuff is that they dont come with a case to hold everything. I know its a little thing and keeps prices down, but it means I would have to get something afterwards.

Lots of choices in this area, I guess I need to get to trying or renting mics.
