Moving From Logic to Studio One

I’ve been using Logic for years and to be fair, can do everything I want with it. However, there are some things that annoy me about it. I’ve recently played around with the demo of Studio One and am mussing about a change. Of course, Logic is basically free forever once you have bought it.

I don’t want to get into endless discussions about DAWs but I wondered if any other if you have made the same switch and how you got on?

I have never used Logic, I use Pro Tools and sometimes slave Reason to it. That said:
When Avid first switched PT to the subscription business model, like many my knee jerk reaction was to look into switching DAW's. So over the course of about a year I downloaded 3 DAWs that had a free trial period version. (Which logic did not)
I tried Ableton , Reaper , and Studio One of those those for me Studio One was the clear choice (if I were actually going to change DAWS) possibly because it was the most like PT. Any way I am still on PT but Studio certainly looks like a great DAW

I use Pro Tools for work. It is the industry standard and probably will be at least for the foreseeable future. I’m also certified on Logic but I haven’t touch it for years now. I made the switch to Studio One several years back for anything I might do at home.

For me Studio One is the most intuitive DAW I’ve yet to encounter. Everything feels smooth and quick. It’s laid out wonderfully. I’ve mentioned before but Pro Tools, where it does have it’s enormous strengths particularly in audio editing, feels like a piece of software that has a ton of bandages holding it together. Studio One feels like software from 2019. I feel confident highly recommending this DAW.

Started with GarageBand, then Ableton and when I started doing a course in Music Production at University they recommended Studio One. After a few months I bought the Pro license since it included a lot of virtual instruments. Couldn’t be happier - great work flow and lots of helpful videos on yt if needed.

Well I gotta say I switched to Studio One years ago and I love it. I used to be a Cakewalk user, but its latency issues got really bad for a while. Before that, I used Voyetra Sequencer Plus Gold in the really old days (around 1991-2) and I wrote computer game music with that.

I love Studio One, especially now that it has STEP RECORD. Finally.
