My 1997 Taylor 555 12 string was always my favorite Taylor! But alas arthritis has me downsizing to a smaller more manageable 6 string guitar. No doubt the 555 will have to be sold. That will be a sad day indeed.

Default RE: Fave Taylor -- Taylor 712ce LTD Road Show

Just to add my two cents ... I've played many a Taylor and this limited model grabbed my attention above the rest of them. Would buy it myself, but I've sworn off slotted headstocks.

Taylor 712ce 12-Fret LTD Road Show Blackwood/Torrefied Sitka Spruce

Link to one for sale (although it may be gone soon.)

The only Taylor that I thought might suit me better than my 914ce (2011) is a K24ce (I've played a couple of very nice ones). But I had the chance to play a K24 with V bracing the other day, and ... well, I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't want to own it any any price. After a few minutes I put it back on the hanger, very puzzled.

For the rest, there have been days when every Taylor I own has made me think, 'I could be happy with just this': 210e DLX; 810e; 214ce QM DLX; 914ce. They all have days of glory. But the 914ce, admittedly, has more.

I must declare, ManyMartinMan has utterly impeccable taste... which is to say, my favorite is also my GS5

Default 914ce L7

ManyMatinMan
You ask "What is your favorite Taylor Guitar"
Short answer:
2004 Fall Ltd. 914ce L7
Why?
This is 1st year of a different top bracing from beginning in 1974, It is forward shifted X.
Was made with Brazilian Rosewood and a fine grain Engelmann sound board.
I had 2 of the 2004's Ltd's, and the second one came from a forum member from Hawaii
Most superior sounding acoustic GA. I will never want to see it go.
I have many other Taylor's I'd rate tops:
KLSM
DMSM
Y2K 914c
912ce L7
ect., Ect!
But this, This 914ce L7 Best all!
P.s. Have many fine Martin's. They all have there place .
Playing the y2k 914c exclusively right now. what a bargain it was!

T5z Pro. Since I usually lean toward electrics, preferably solid bodies, sitting down with the T5z was a very pleasant surprise. I ended up getting the Fender Acoustic 100 to go with it.

Haven't touched a Taylor guitar in a while but I remember their Taylor GC8 being the nicest I tried. All other Taylor guitars sounded too much like one another.

I'd like to find an above average older 614 GC cutaway. I am looking for a bright strummer for recording. I have only had one Taylor an all koa 2003 Fall LMT. 324-ce. It was really nice, especially the feel. I am intrigued about a 2018 Spruce / koa, v braced, luxury liner too. A trip to LA Guitar's would be fun.
