I echo the previous poster's comments on all facets. However great this win is for the country of Japan, and the hard work paying off for Hidecki, there was only a couple of holes of drama when Xander birdied 4 in a row to get within 2 strokes coupled with Hidecki rinsing his approach on 15 to get the bogey. Once Xander tripled it was all over. The "pack" behind just could not put together a charge to really make it interesting. And I am not intimating that because no USA player challenged that it was less drama. It could have been Fleetwood, Rahm, Leishman, anyone who could have stepped up. But the tournament was really won after the weather delay on Saturday when Hidecki lit up the back nine for a 30! Game over!

If you're a fan of match play, also watch the ladies play The Solheim Cup, Tue, Aug 31, 2021 – Mon, Sep 6, 2021 at Inverness Club in Ohio.
It was one of the most riveting matches a few years ago in Scotland, when Europe won the Cup on a super clutch putt at the last hole by Suzann Petterson. Even with one hole left it looked like the US would retain the Cup. Pretty dramatic stuff. Suzann retired after that. She wouldn't be able to top that, according to her. Would be great to get the Korean/Thai/Asian/International girls involved in some kind of match play competition too. They currently represent the best there is in women's golf. Similar to the President's Cup for the men. Would love to see it happen.

I think an Asian Ryder Cup would only be good for the Asian women...they dominate women's golf right now.

Not so keen on match play but I'll still watch the Ryder Cup.

Me too - second favorite week of the year. Also follow the LPGA pretty regularly and enjoy the Solheim.
Anyone notice little Lydia Ko is on a tear again - shot a 62 last week at the ANA and a 63 this week in Hawaii.
