I just applied a sealer coat of shellac to the backs this morning and loved the way the morning sunlight was bringing out the colors and figure!
So here are some pics for you!

Nice ! This is going to be one heck of a last Holy Grail
Any reason for the different back bracings ? Model? Size? Tone?

Oh yeah! Your Michaud also looks stunning! I can't wait to see it there in real life.

Three ladder braces are the standard on my guitars but I have also used lattice bracing on a few guitars in the past. Especially on highly figured backs that seemed to be a bit weaker.
This Birdseye Maple back was really stiff and stable but since my first baritone with a quilted Honduran Mahogany back had a lattice bracing I thought it is a good idea to do it the same way again. Just because it already worked really good. But also because I think it helps with the bass response.
I also had a Somogyi MD in my shop a month ago which had a lattice braced back and I want to experiment with it a bit more in the future myself.

I have a couple more in progress pictures for you before I will share some of the closed boxes soon!

This first one shows the rim getting glued to the top.

This is my main chisel for doing the voicing work. It's a Japanese carving chisel that I bought during my internship with Ray Kraut.

I'd be really surprised if it wasn't snapped up by then!

Looking forward to seeing and hearing this one when completed.

That would definitely be great. I hope it won't be around for long after the show.

Me too! I try to get some good recordings before the show.

I will say it again because it deserves repeating, that is the single most beautiful set of BRW I have ever seen. The grain pattern is unlike any other I have seen.

I will make it a mission to play a Spohn one day, I wish it could be that one lol!
