Taylor ES2 allen/hex key .050 not fitting
Hi,
I am not by any means a guitar repairer or sorts. I do DIY set u and small fixes fr my own guitars. I bought a used Taylor with ES2 on ebay and the ES2 pickup has that constant hum when it is not grounded or something. Taylor support actually sent me a free new more shielded ES2 as a goodwill. I watched the video on youtube and it says 0.050 hex key to unscrew the ES2 at the saddle. I think I have 0.050 hex key that I use for strat pickup height adjustment. But that hex key just does not fit into the ES2 hex screws. I looked up online for a 0.050 hex key and in pictures it looks just like the one that I have. I can't exactly measure up whether the hex key I have is 0.050 or not but it came with my strat. Is the hex key needed for Taylor's ES2 of some different dimension. Can't find this info anywhere. Am I doing something wrong in using that hex key? It just doesn't go in.

If its not going in then its the wrong size. How do you know yours is .050
They are a very simple design, just do not overtighten them, adjust until they touch then an additional 1/8 of a turn is heaps Steve

Just checked on mine. Torx T4 and T5 both go OK.

Your Strat one is probably a 1/16"
