Smile 1995 "Golden Age" Taylor GAMC EX+ SOLD AGF PENDING inspection

SOLD AGF PENDING INSPECTION.

Way Boss Old Taylor For Sale:

Want to discuss? 619-445-1189. 9-9 PST. I LOVE yakking with AGFers, and hate typing. Haha

1995 GAMC. Mahogany/Cedar 1st year Grand Auditorium.
#290 of 300.

One of the "Golden Age" Taylors that really put them in the top ranks of builders. Made when they were still a fairly small shop, with a highly trained staff and a lot more hand work and voicing than newer Taylors! Really...

VERY VERY MINTY.

Perfect neck angle. 1.75" Nut. 2 3/16" string spacing at Saddle.

FOURTH PRICE DROP! $1795 "Goin' Down, Down, Down, Down. got my head out the window, my two feet on the ground..."

Still shipped and insured on me. Prefer no fees at this silly Low Price, but we can discuss it!

Was $2,250

No cutaway on any GA in 95. Again, first year for the Grand Auditorium

I recently had this completely inspected at Taylor Repair in El Cajon and it needs NOTHING !

Gotoh 510 tuners work perfectly. A Nice upgrade! No other repairs or mods done or needed. Original SHINY Gold Grovers in the case

Pink Poodle OHSC, in super condition as well

This sounds fantastic and plays perfectly! It is much lighter in weight than the newer ones, or even the AP models. Thinner old "electric neck" too.

Shipped insured on my Heritage account. Packed with OCD care!!!

Play pretty and tune often!!!

Paul

Had one of those about 10 years ago - one of my favorite Taylors.

This is an outstanding guitar! I should know as it was mine before Paul bought it from me. I later asked Paul to let me know if he decided to sell it because I immediately missed it once it left my house. But my son got engaged last month and now have a different priority for my $.

Whoever buys this will fall in love with the tone. IMO, Taylor does fantastic work with cedar tops (bought 3). Combined with mahogany and built during the quote golden age of Taylors, the sound is warm and enveloping. And the neck on these 90's Taylors are just super easy and comfortable to play.

Paul, I wish you well on the sale, but will certainly be sad that I won't be the buyer.

Thanks Fitness. You certainly know the good ones!

Thank you VJ! It was great visiting with you and whacking FINE guitars...

Now for more pics. I am learning how to use my new Droid phone, slooooowly

I had forgotten how beautiful the back and sides are on this. Spectacular Mahogany for sure.

Anything that looks like a flaw is just a reflection. There is probably a sign of use somewhere but I have not found it yet

All the best to you and your family!!!20200222_185656.jpg20200222_185210.jpg20200222_185555.jpg20200222_185920.jpg20200222_185938.jpg20200222_190017.jpg20200222_191220.jpg

Again, any apparent flaw (like by the endpin) is just a reflection. This is super CLEAN!

Smile Up....

Someone will be stoked. I have sold a few of these 90s Taylors here. Always after having them dialed to perfect playability at Taylor Repair in El Cajon.

Every new owner has been very pleased, which makes me happy!

On this one VJ had it dialed when I bought it. But I still had it thoroughly inspected at TR EC.

If you have not experienced one of the mid 90s Taylors, it is difficult to realize the extent of the differences from the newer ones.

These are quite favorably comparable to Bourgeois, Collings, Santa Cruz, and other small shop builders of the same era. In fact they were all quite inspirational for each other. They all knew each other and all shared their insights and techniques a lot.

This is a great axe in PRIMO condition.

Want to talk? 619-445-1189 from 9-9 PST

Have a FUNDERFUL day

Paul

I think I played this guitar at your place-- really light weight, great tone, wonderful neck that's so easy to negotiate.... wow! Someone will be thrilled!

Default Some history

In case anyone is interested in the history of this guitar, here it is. I purchased this towards the end of 2018 from the original owner. He bought it in 1995 and played it sparingly for a year or two. It then sat with his other collection of guitars until he realized he couldn't take all of them with him (he's 74 now). So he started selling them off when I came across this one. It was a no brainer... tone, looks, condition, playability.

When I bought it, I had it inspected by Third Coast Guitars (in Chicago). They are a certified Taylor/Martin/Gibson shop that I have used in the past. They went over everything and only made some minor tweaks. They also installed the Gotoh tuners for me. For those of you that know Paul, he had it looked over by the Taylor team and they concurred that this is an A+ guitar.

The only reason I sold it (and 6 others) was that we moved from a house in Chicago (where I had a 180 sq ft music room) to a small 1,100 sq ft unit in San Diego. We just weren't going to have the room, so I downsized to 2 guitars As I said in my other post, I would buy it back immediately if I didn't have a wedding to help pay for. I'd make room for this one in a heartbeat!

So Paul is only the 3rd owner of this 25 yr old Taylor, which looks as good as any new one, but with killer tone. I am happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Vince

BTW - Paul is not guessing on the numbers, this was a limited run of only 300, as marked on the label.

Smile Friday night bump

Thank you Vince! It is also nice to know the history of an instrument. This one certainly is clean enough to have spent most of its life in the closet. It SOUNDS great, and I believe it is actually opening up even more, as I have had it hanging with a Tone Rite for quite a while now.

Happy to answer any questions or send more pics. Just ask...

A couple nibbles but still here for now.

Open to your reasonable offers.

Have a FINE weekend

Paul

Default Sweet

I am visiting Paul and had the chance to play this little cutie. This is a great sounding guitar. Really lightweight with that chubby mahogany tone. I have one at home, or this would go home with me.

Smile Tuesday Bump

Happy Tuesday AGF!

Thanks Steve/shorthand! Your visits are always too short...

And thanks again Vince, for the brief history of this CLEAN axe.

Many thanks to Kerbie for help getting this in my signature!!!

This morning I cleaned and oiled the Fretboard, tightened everything up a tiny bit, and installed new Elixir Nano PB Lights. They are Taylor's recommended strings.

Holy Smokes, this thing SOUNDS FANTASTIC!

I did find one tiny smudge near the Large E tuner, but I believe it may well buff out if anyone cares to do so. My bad, as I now seem to remember Vince mentioned it! Oops.

The original Gold Grover tuners are in the case, and still appear new!

This is really Light Weight. It only SOUNDS heavy. Haha

Let's take off $275 and see if it gets anyone off the fence.

Now asking $1975 shipped insured. Fees on buyer if used, or we can discuss...

Again folks, if you have not experienced one of these mid 90s Taylors, you are in for a pleasant and very musical surprise!

Cheers

Paul

Smudge by E tuner 20200303_085630.jpg20200303_085512.jpg

Booboo is only visible in angled light. And does not go into the finish. Trying to show that above.

Cheers
