Replacement hard shell case for J-185 ?

I'm looking for a hard shell case that will fit a Gibson J-185 and hope someone here can point me to a specific model that will fit.
(Ideally the price point will be more TKL than Calton, but all suggestions are welcome.)

The Taylor Grand Symphony (x16) dimensions are very similar and their cases are priced pretty fairly for the quality, I think. Not sure where you are, but hopefully a Taylor dealer nearby would have one you could check for fit.

I don’t know the specific model, but cedar creek makes nice cases for the J-185 (one came with my john Walker ruby elite, which is based on the J-185)

Sweetwater’s has a search function called “case finder”.
You should be able to find an appropriate case there.
I have the SKB universal jumbo case. It’s a vault, but not nearly as heavy as a TKL.

CMD, if I were you I would call and talk to the folks at Elderly Instruments. They have by far and away the best assortment of hardshell guitar cases that I have found anywhere, especially for less common guitar body shapes.

Their toll free telephone number is 888-473-5810. They're in the Eastern time zone, so keep that in mind when you call. Today I imagine they're probably closed for the Martin Luther King Day federal holiday, but give them a try during East Coast business hours tomorrow and see if they can help you.

This is another possibility if you can't find a case at Elderly - I can think of three topnotch luthiers off the top of my head who make versions of the J-185: John Walker (as mentioned,) Kevin Kopp and Dale Fairbanks.

Any one of the three might or might not be willing to sell you a case, but if not they should be able to point you towards a supplier.

Plus there's Cedar Creek itself, which is a division of TKL. I own a couple of Cedar Creek cases, and they're quite nice. Cedar Creek's 800 number is (800) 370-2991. Check with them, but first look at their website to see what they offer.

As for myself, if I was looking for a J-185 case I would definitely start with Elderly, because if they have any it'll be at a friendlier price. But if they don't have one, check with Cedar Creek or some of the luthiers who make these instruments.
