Default Pick ups and amplifier for Parlour guitar

I have recently purchased Eastman e20p.

Would you recommend any pick ups for parlour guitar and possibly acoustic amplifier?
I don’t perform on the stage, but would like to play plugged in. And I don’t need a very high end pick ups unless it’s a life changing experience to invest 300 dollars. I just need a simple pick up and amplifier to enjoy myself

Thank you all!

I love my Fishman Loudbox Mini. But my only amplified acoustics are Taylors that came that way from the factory, so I can't comment on aftermarket pickups based on any first hand experience.

You may want to consider a magnetic soundhole pickup like the Seymour Duncan Woody or the Woody XL. Slips in and easily removed.

If you are handy and not scared to do an installation yourself, I highly recommend the JJB Prestige 330. Very natural sound on a low budget.

If you are not playing in public you won't need much power. The Yamaha THR5A is very cool and can run on AAA batteries. This Bugera amp has two channels and is very highly rated and affordable.

Good luck. There are lots of options.

I second the recommendation for the JBB Prestige 330 pickup. There is an awesome YouTube video showing a method to mount all three pickups at the same time. Following that method it is an easy install. Check the local classifieds and Craigslist, you might find a nice reasonably priced tube amp.

I didn’t know JJB. Thank you so much. I was thinking K&K pure mini. How is it compared to K&K?

You’ll get lots of recommendations. Here’s mine: Pickup is a Fishman Infinity Matrix (or Matrix Infinity, I get confused). I have used it in all of my guitars and am pleased with it. For an amp, I use a Fishman Loudbox Mini. Never thought about it this way, but I guess this makes me a Fishman fan-boy.

I recently bought a prewar parlor that I like a lot.
I wanted to install something that was not permanent (crazy glue).
I had two magnetic pups around an lr baggs m80 and a sunrise.
The baggs would not fit in the soundhole.
But the sunrise if I removed one mounting bracket,
Would go in. Once in place I can reattach the mounting bracket.'
The combo is awesome really . I bring it to open mics just to raise eyebrows. a new sunrise is over your 300 budget a bit but you can find them used.

Get the anthem sl. It’s $199 as opposed to $299 and, I have to say, after the initial few hours tooling around finding the right bit of blend, I wouldn’t miss the blend wheel at all. Haven’t touched it since I found the level I like.

Honestly, I don't know as I have never played a K&K equipped guitar. I have heard others say that the K&K is more balanced and the JJB is more midrange focused. The JJB pretty much states up front on their web page that they are a copy of the K&K. I can tell you this, the service from JJB is stellar and most of the time your dealing will be directly with the owner, Jessie Valad (sp?) and I like that. I find mine to sound quite natural and have gigged guitars with them fairly often.

The JJB pickups are well made, for sure.

The Anthem SL mentioned is very good and quite natural sounding too - I had a Larrivee with one installed and it sounded great.

Hard to beat the JJB for 50 bucks IMO. Depending on your amp you may need a preamp to get the tone and/or volume you want with either a JJB or a K&K.
