Default Time for a new guitar strap

Guitar strap came off the end pin strap holder for the second time today... (both times guitar was still in my hands so no worries) but first time I said, hmmm maybe it's time for a new strap, this time i said it definitely is...

my pick is simple and basic from walker and williams, https://walkerandwilliams.com/produc...-finish-strap/

no affiliations but figured i'd put it out there... anyone else like these straps? Good quality and relatively inexpensive - lots of cool options as well (if you like more than just basic)

Why not go with strap locks? That Walker Williams strap is beautiful and simple. Over time it will pop off the end pin too. All my guitars get strap locks after "the incident" with my beloved LLX6A.

I have had that same one for over two years now. Nice quality and comfortable. Not too stiff, not too droopy. Its color is toward the red/burgundy and it looks better on some guitars than others. On my Yamaha FG800 it complements some of the color in the pick guard so I am happy with it there.

Broy, I’m a big fan of Walker and Williams straps, and have around half a dozen of them. In terms of quality received for dollar spent, no other company comes close.

I just recently got my first Walker and Williams strap, and it will not be my last. It's a great, comfy strap at a reasonable price.

I have a W&W for each of my guitars. I really like them. I have the more ornate designs 2 3/4” padded. I just noticed their price, like everything else, is up about about 25% since the last one I bought. Still great value for a quality strap.

I’ve worn unassuming strap out almost. I have a friend making me a 4 inch wide padded suede strap. A good strap is a luxury….

Never one to talk somebody out of a nice strap but for less than $3 you get two sets of these plus a handful of candy.

I like the OP's choice of a simple leather strap, but I go for the poor man's version from Levy's...

The W&W strap is elegant and robust. It reminds me of my Martin vintage strap:

https://www.sweetwater.com/c932--Gui...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

I would say it’s thicker and a little stiffer than it needs to be. I wonder if the W&W strap is similar?

I have 5 of these straps. All suede backed so they don’t move around. Handmade and well built. One is near 10 years old and I’ll be using it tomorrow morning.

I just got a 3" wide Lakota strap in the mail today, liking it so far. Man is it comfortable and non slip.... It's replacing my 2" Levy's cotton job.

I’m a huge fan of the Lock-it straps. They come in leather, suede, cotton, velvet, and nylon. The end clips to any button or acoustic jack.

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...ing-ends-black

I liked the original (20 years ago) leather best with one ply because it fits easily in a case and it stays put on ones shoulder. The current leather is double ply and smooth on both sides so you can flip it over for a strap button on the bottom of the heel. Therefore I’d be more inclined to buy a suede or cotton Lock-it if the button is in a more normal location.

I have a few nylon Lock-it straps, and I moved the ends of one to a Planet Lock leather:

The color match drives me crazy, but my Frankenstrap is comfortable, easy to adjust, fits in a case, and prevents neck dive on my 12 string.

How did that even happen? The endpin part of a guitar strap is made of in my experience a pretty thick piece of leather (unless you're vegan, sorry, no offense). Smallish opening the endpin goes through, what's to come off? Acoustic guitars weigh hardly anything, so . . . ?

If it's a steel body resonator, or a banjo, maybe. But otherwise? Pick up a 4-pack of Grolsch, it comes with four straploks at no extra charge.
