I saw a used Martin D35 12 string listed for $1,985 along with several Larrivee D and L body 12 strings in the $1,200 to $1,500 range. All nice choices.

I found it interesting to see Tony Polecastro's 10 best 12-string guitar recommendations. The Guild F-1512E is his no. 5 recommendation.

Well, that is an interesting and quite varied list. The absence of the Guild F512 seems like a crazy omission, however. I suspect some of Tony's choices were influenced by low prices. But that may make the list especially useful to the OP.

Unfortunately, I’ve had 4 shoulder surgeries over the years and also developed some rather painful arthritis that makes reaching over large body acoustics and playing rather painfull.
Thanx all for the great suggestions. I may just check out that Lakewood.
Appreciation to all!!😀

Second to ^^^^this. I just played two short gigs with mine this afternoon and it sounded great and plays easily. I use it some at every gig but today it was the only guitar I used for the two hours we played. I'll be using it again Friday and the following Saturday...and into the foreseeable future.

For about a grand or less -Id look at the Guild F-1512 - and buy the deluxe hard shell case with it .

It took a bit of time on mine , im use to the 12 th string being the heavier bass string -where the guild is the lighter string in the 12 string position . with some playing it actually is very good

Id also suggest the Yamaha LL16-12 ( I own an older Yamaha from the 1970's ) with the bass as the 12th string -so i can have it both ways .

You should be able to find a used Guild D25-12 and still have enough left for a set-up.

I'm not sure whether this fits what you're looking for but MF has a SDOD for a Guild 12 string that looks good.

If the OP is still interested, Musician's Friend has a Stupid Deal of the Day for a Guild F-2512CE Deluxe 12-String Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar Antique Burst. $449USD.

This guitar gets a lot of love from folks here, and if I didn't already have my 12-string fix in place, I'd be all over this!

YES! — I'm thrilled with my brazilian rosewood 12 fret 1969 D12-35.

The only 'issue' at the moment is it's very sensitive to humidity. Not sure if this is specific to just my guitar or the tone woods or the bracing. When it's too dry the action flattens out, whereas action on my 000-SM15, Resorocket and others are just fine in the exact same environment.

Thankfully can be resolved (at least temporarily) keeping an Oasis in the sound hole (when it's in the case) and a house humidifier (especially this time of year in Canada) but I'm wondering if it's a signal the neck might need a reset?
