Has anyone seen the guy on Austin Texas Craigs List advertising archtops and parlors . His pictures are stunning ,looks like he has a thousand old guitars . He will only talk to you through Facebook or Craigslist . No phone conversations and you must make an appointment to visit his shop . No address until you are near to him.

Looks like jobber instruments from the '40s-70s, mostly American and European (with a couple early MIJ imports), Thomas-era Vox gear, and some early blackface Fender stuff; while everyone has his/her own Holy Grail, based on the little I can see in detail I'm thinking the guitars are largely wall-hanger quality - it'll cost you more to get them into playing condition than they'll ever be worth - and only the Fender amps (especially that transition-era blonde) and maybe some of the Vox heads, if they're the right models. have any real value. Besides, this guy sounds a wee bit, um, eccentric

You've nailed him to the wall. I think he just wants to weed out the window shopping tire kickers, and then get a few people in the door for impulse buying, or at best maybe actually haggle over the better stuff with cash in hand. He probably doesn't need the money, or the aggravation, or his ex to know that he still has anything left. For anyone interested in looking at those pictures.......https://austin.craigslist.org/msg/d/...570504746.html HE

The old Kays are pretty neat, assuming they are playable (and many aren't).
The Vox heads are all solid state US models... they look cool, but don't sound wonderful. The only thing of real value I see is the blonde Fender Bandmaster.
