I was so fortunate to buy it from a gent here on AGF who has since become a good friend.

For three years now he has been begging me to sell it back to me. No dice. It's with me for life and, Keith, you ain't in my will.

A number of you have seen this and commented about how incredible this guitar sounds. I like the purity of performing solo without a pickup. I have some of the best pickups on the market in my guitars, and none of them sound as good live as an $100 SM-58

So here is me playing a solo version of Michael Smith's legendary song, "The Dutchman."

Thanks to all of the knowledgeable members who have such a dramatic impact on my life in music. I am eternally grateful.

Would love to hear from other Eastie owners, new or old, or from those considering acquiring their first Eastman.

thanks,
scott memmer
Very handsome (not you, the guitar!). That's a great tone and a well-sung song. Thanks for sharing.

Andrew -- Hah! I agree: the handsome one is the guitar, not memmer. My wife has been telling me that for 35 years.

Bobster, thanks for the kind words.

Glad everyone is enjoying the tone of this awesome Eastie.

Vida, just so dang busy, haven't had a chance to record or photograph it or hardly even play it. I used to play guitar every day, until I got into the guitar pick business.

Plus, Vida, it's so gorgeous that I'm terrified to take it out of the house.

All things happen in good time. It's a stunner, in every way imaginable, as you yourself well know.

Beautiful performance, Scott!

I'm not an Eastman owner ... yet. I've been on the prowl for a 000 and have been seriously considering buying an Eastman OM (really a 000) but, like so many others, there aren't that many to try locally. I've come across a few dreads but, since I'm looking for something smaller, I've not even picked one up out of curiosity to try out. The only smaller Eastman I've tried was a very used (and somewhat abused) AC122ce. It felt great but the strings were dead so I couldn't get a good sense of what it could do. It was certainly comfortable, though!

Who knows - maybe I'll just take the plunge with a sponsor and see what all the hoopla is all about!

Thanks so much.

I know Eastman had some quality issues in the early days, some inconsistency, but as I understand it these were mainly in the fit-n-finish area. I always prefer to buy used, whenever possible, but if you're looking at new I do think you'll get a very good guitar by ordering online. The line is quite marvelous, top to bottom.

I also have their top of the line OM-40 which I haven't recorded with yet. It's so gorgeous, I'm afraid to take it out of my house.

Happy Hunting!
Scott

I have an E1D en route. I’ve got my eye on the adi topped dreads and the AC Series as well. Looking forward to seeing what the Eastman buzz is all about.

I usually am not into this style of finish, but that E1SS-LTD Classic finish for 799 with Adi and a pickup is super tempting. That being said, the double top is as well, though not as much from a fiscal standpoint.

Cool, Matt. I hear that's a great guitar. Please give us a report here or elsewhere on AGF when you put her through her paces.

Congrats on the E1D. I have several of the Adi top dreads, and they're all outstanding.

Thanks for the share; your video captured the tone just perfectly. If I could have lived with the neck carve, I'd probably still own my E10-SS. Probably why Keith sold it to you in the first place.

Incidentally, where is Keith? Haven't seen him post here lately.

He's still lurking. Just traded texts with him an hour ago.

I think you might be right on the neck thing. Keith's real particular about that. I'm not sure why, but I'm not. Give me anything from the old baseball necks to the newer, thinner profile, and I'm good to go.

thanks,
scott

Guitar is in the car behind me as I sit here for the next 30 minutes waiting to pick up my daughter...
