Default A Meadow by the Sea (original)

Hi all. I'm a second year medical resident specializing in psychiatry at Hennepin County Medical Center and Regions Hospital in Minnesota. I'm also a classical/flamenco guitarist, having played for over 20 years. I was recently invited to participate in a program called "Hippocrates Cafe: Reflections on the Pandemic," highlighting the intersection between medicine and the arts. I performed my original composition "A Meadow by the Sea" for the program, set to photographs of frontline workers taken by Dr. Avi Nahum.

Nicely done. Sounds like some folkish influence melodic wise.

Thank you all so much for the very nice and supportive comments! Rick-slo, I would say there were many influences for this piece but the biggest ones that come to mind right away are the works of Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell as well as Baroque music in general.

Hi Daniel,

Wow, that was well done! Beautiful playing, lovely composition, and very touching photos! Welcome to the AGF -- I'm glad you are here!

I do hope things good better for all the dedicated workers in the healthcare world, especially those working in the hospitals.

Stay safe out there Daniel, and best of luck in completing your residency.

- Glenn
