Default Hollow arm sound hole

Hey everyone
I am in the process of building my first harp guitar. I have just completed bracing on the top, and will be gluing the top to the back and sides in my next workshop session.

I had decided not to have a sound hole in the hollow arm, but to rather just use a sound port on the hollow arm.

I am now concerned that this may put me at a disadvantage if I wanted to put a pickup on the sub bass side.

Does anyone own a hollow-arm harp guitar with no soundhole in the top on the arm section. Anyone ever fitted a pickup system to one of these?

I expect that I'd be fine with a k&k pure mini or similar on the sub-bass side, but it has suddenly occurred to me that the sound hole may be more useful that I had thought.

Any thoughts?
