Default Harp Guitar Music

To all:

Do you have any favorite “harp guitar videos”? This is a particularly beautiful song by Don Alder entitled “Sayonara.calm”

I am getting quite intrigued about harp guitars. I would love to see and hear more video favorites, as well as any other information about those unique guitars.

Todd:

Thanks for the reply, and the link to that video. Michael Hedges was quite amazing... a true pioneer of the genre he represented.

It's interesting that you would mention John Doan. I recently purchased an album of his from iTunes, called: Wrapped in White "Visions of Christmas Past". It's not entirely done on the harp guitar, as it has other period instruments as well. Overall, it's a beautifully done piece of music, and quite pleasing to listen to.

thanks,
Bill

I actually only found two JD videos and neither were that spectacular. Just do a search on Youtube for "harp guitar" and it pulls up lots of stuff. There was even one documentary piece, and a few other Andy Mckee and Don Alder pieces.....

Stephen Bennett is my favorite harp guitarist. On his Stephen Bennett Live DVD (Mel Bay) he plays harp guitar on many songs as well as 6 string and resonator guitar on others. This is a top notch performance DVD and is well worth getting.

Hi Steve:

Great! I'm going to a little web surfing and see if I can't find that DVD.

Much appreciated,
Bill

+1 Bennett is amazing. His Christmas album is one of my favorites, and his Beatles album is superb as well. Seems he should be better known, considering his skill level!

Tones of good harpguitar info at http://www.harpguitars.net

Hi John:

As they say here: +1 on that clip -- on both accounts :-)! Listening to Muriel Anderson play her composition "Clarsah" was a real treat. I think I am developing a unique form of GAS -- as in "H.G.A.S.". A harp guitar just might be in my future....

thanks,
Bill
