Edit: Graybeard
You are the MAN Joel.

BTW, i did not tell you at BIG and should have but I think you have the most creative and pleasing peghead designs I have seen on any guitar. Plus they sound good.

Graybeard for me, but if the OOO 12 wins, it has to have a cutaway if I am buying it.

John,
Hearing this from you means the world to me. I was quite apprehensive when I decided to move away from the “paddle-style” peghead which I had previously been using. It took some time (and many iterations of drawings) to embrace the design of it…and even a while longer deciding to actually implement it. These three guitars I brought to BIGv3 were the very first ones to incorporate this new design; so reading your thoughts here is quite gratifying. Thank you.

Let me say that I fall into the bad shoulder camp that can't play bigger guitars.

But as the new owner of a Graybeard, I can say that it does not feel like a big guitar. It has a 15-7/8" lower bout, but with a tight waist, arm bevel, and a manzer wedge, it is an extremely comfortable guitar to play. I was really initially surprised to learn it was that big after playing it because it feels like an OM.

It's an awesome new model!

As for comfort, ALL John's Guitar shapes are extremely comfortable if you have him build them with bevels and a manzer wedge.
Of course a 12 fret neck is helpful too
This build is going to be a lot of fun to watch

Thanks for the plug Paul
A 12 fret neck is always good IMHO

Great idea!
Kevins’s Graybeard has a 13 fret neck. I think it was a great compromise between 12 and 14

Just to help in the decision making process I thought to post examples of the nonstandard body styles. The OM shape and the 000 are probably familiar to everyone so here’s a look at the West Coast and Graybeard

The West Coast

As you can see it's not as squared off as a traditional OM though it fits very nicely in an OM case.

Graybeard… This is the one Kevin bought at BIG.

The waist is longer and the cutaway is more "modern". Its the largest of the 4 choices and will take a dreadnought case but probably will do better in a custom case (which will be provided)

As much as I love my 000-12, I think you should have included an option for an L-00. I would have voted for that.

Smile Can I change my vote?

I know I weighed in for a 000 12 earlier, but I would like to change that to a graybeard

Here is why:

I know John is really digging this shape, too!

Woohoo
