I did pick up a used Takamine EF-340tt. The price was right and the specs are very close to the 18 with mahogany body, 1 3/4 neck, nice tuners. Just something about a spruce over mahogany body that...well I guess I dont have to tell you...they just sing!!! One day maybe..... Oh, do you like lights or mediums on yours or have you not had it long enough to tell?

I traded my D28 for a 000-18. No regrets. I had to move on from Dreads though so that helped soften the departure. My Taylor buddy played the 18 and just loves it.

meant to send this link to you a few weeks ago, check out Lincoln Brewster with his 000-18. its a 2 hour concert(new album release), and he is awesome on a strat that he starts and plays the first hour. he sits on a stool and uses the 000-18 around 1:08:52. around 1:29 he plays sweet home Alabama. he plays soft and strums hard, so you can hear it in a lot of different genres. sounds great(Lincoln is an awesome player though-he used to play in a rock band but at the moment it escapes me).

Hey Daryl,

Thanks for this. What an excellent example of the range possible with this guitar, obviously in very capable hands. Appreciate the video.

The rock band you’re thinking of is probably Steve Perry. He was his touring guitarist for a bit.

He is certainly a great musician.

Daryl, had the chance last evening to really watch the video. I see what you mean.

Videos like that are really helpful, IMHO, with the understanding that a good musician can probably get the most out of any instrument
