Do double bass strings ever break
They seem almost unbreakable? Has anyone ever broken a double bass strings. I have yet to. They seem sturdy.

Not me, or my bass player but a friend who plays Dobro with his son-in law, and his daughter on bass has broken two! (she plays pretty hard!)

I've played the double bass for over two decades in an orchestral context. I've never broken a string and I don't know anyone who has. Bridges, sure; but strings? No.

Help!
This is a good exercise in: How well do you know the neck? The bass player can adjust, however Chick Corea looks nervous.
