Agreed...that thing isn't pretty. Though I like black guitars, I don't know how I'd feel about one that's made of carbon fiber.

Lava at first sight? Maybe not. But if it sounds great amplified and plays well (the original Lava had a very short scale length), it's a great deal on a carbon fiber instrument.

It’s an interesting shape for sure. As an Emerald X20 owner the odd center soundhole doesn’t bother me. The sound both acoustically and amplified is what matters. I believe that this model is version three of their product line. Based on its price it’s a lot of guitar for the money - CF guitars aren’t cheap!

I have to admit, it sounds pretty good. Looks like the perfect busking guitar.

You should try a carbon fiber guitar... THEN, you'd know how you feel about it. Check out the posts on this sub-forum to see some gorgeous instruments from the other CF makers.

I did. Some of them are indeed incredible. All that remains is to play one and see how I like the sound.

It's like eating potato chips - you can't stop at one. Well, except there are no calories in playing carbon fiber. "One" won't tell you what the many others are like... just like wood... the different CF manufacturers and their many different models all have their own sound.

Another big bonus of carbon fiber: you don't have to wait years for them to "open up".

Enjoy the discovery process.
