When you consider that the back purflings are .010" per stripe, and the backstrip purflings are much narrower, miters in this photo approach perfection pretty well. Oh I do hope I am not challenged on that statement, not even in someone's private thoughts, 'cause I have never done much better than this.

Default Bridal Joint

In my revived quest to become even less efficient, spending more time yet on niggling details, I am putting a Bridal joined headstock on what is likely the first Schoenberg so endowed. I laid it out, cut it, and glued it up this afternoon. The HHG'll be ready to carve in the morning.

The neck on my new Schoenberg is coming along.

Just about ready for the heel cap:

Looks like focus is on my WidgetWorks “Apprentice”:

Anytime I start thinking I've done something "perfect", I just have to look more closely to burst my bubble. So I limit that kind of thing .

I have spent some time messing with scraps from this guitar and some magic P stain. I finally got to something I liked and went for it. Here is the guitar body with its first coat of oil varnish, not yet dry enough to touch.

The Pernambuco stain looks good to me Bruce. I recall you telling me that the wood has been used for staining for centuries. Or something to that effect ...
