For Per's next Batch? If so, congrats!

Default Tape comes off the 42

Here it is w/o binding. The clean up will commence after the Koa binding is applied. Looks pretty good to me!

Thanks Per!

Default 42 update.

Since Per had no luck getting some nice Flamed Koa for the binding in a timely manner, it was decided to get some great looking Tasmanian Blackwood instead.

Here it is:

First some bling and back shots.

And finally some shots of the TB binding and end piece.

Real happy with the way the binding looks Per! Great job.

Thanks!

Beautiful. And the tasmanean is consistent density and much harder than koa so is more appropriate binding material anyway!

I like the taz binding. It's going to look pretty killer under finish.

Default OM-28 update

Thanks for the comments!

On to the OM. I am really glad Per had this available and I was in the position to add it on.

The wood used on this OM is impeccable. Nice Moon Spruce.

Straight tightly grained MRW perfectly quartersawn back and sides.

Backstrip detail.

And finally, the end… of the guitar.

Super work Per. Thanks!

Can't wait to see the 45!

Just absurdly clean work. You're a lucky man. Can't wait for mine to get started on the next batch. All of those look great, but that OM is the standout to me. Simply spectacular.

It's true that back is probably the best quartersawn set of Madi I've ever seen. I don't know where he gets it. Mine is definitely more figured, but that's personal preference. I'm sure they both are going to sound amazing, and probably as close to identical as possible Here's my back:

Matthew,

All the MRW used in this batch are really nice. I agree. Your OM 's back is very similar to my CS21-11, so I wanted something different. These three are definitely different from my Martin examples.

Never saw a spec sheet for your OM. Are you getting the bar frets and ebony truss as well as the french polish? I figure I would never be able to order that combo from Martin, so why not. Plus Per will do 2 ahead of mine to get the hang of it.

Specs are as follows, omitting the obvious of wood choices etc. based on a 31 OM 28 that per got the plans from Willi Henkes I think. Nut string spacing size etc all the same.

The neck will be somewhere between a Clapton mod V and the mod low oval Martin currently used, just enough V to remind me. Neck reinforcement will be Per's standard 3 CF rod plan. Bar frets are a must. Tuners will be Waverly nickel relics. Nitro, not French polish.

So this build won't be exadtly the same as the old OM 28s but the small modern concessions won't detract from it's vintage feeling.

I thought he used 2 CF rods?
