I'm pretty sure the company was named after the man but i don't think there is any other relation.

Ask Esteban. He says Segovia gave him his name. Maybe he named the company. Just kidding!

If I recall correctly, Segovia was/is a Korean brand. I'm not aware that they're still being made or exported. A friend has one, but doesn't have any additional info.

Yeah, I got mine while in Korea. Anyone know how I can find info on it. Like maybe what kind of wood it's made out of and the quality of the guitar.

Found a some model numbers they made, here is the most common one: Segovia D70GN

Here are some reviews: http://www.harmony-central.com/Guita.../D70GN-01.html

A cheap guitar and not a lot of info.

Genuine Segovia guitars are one of the finest classical acoustic guitars in the world, originally designed and modelled by or for the great guitarist himself Andres Segovia ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCeebWgjrrU ) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBOqnSvVlI8 ), who was still playing brilliantly just before he died at the age of 94.

Segovia guitars were originally made in Spain and Prices for Segovia guitars can range from $300 up to AU$15,000 and more, depending on the model and year they were made etc.

I have heard and imagine that there are non-genuine Asian copies, but never-the-less, these could still be adequate guitars I imagine, as some good guitars are made in Asia.
However, a vintage genuine Segovia guitar in working condition would be considered in the 'collectors' category now, and could be worth a reasonable sum of money. And all good genuine Segovia guitars are essentially hand made and have good, if not beautiful crisp but mellow sound, resonance and sustain.
Genuine Segovia guitars are master guitars, and among knowledgable musicians, are recognised and respected as such.

I hope this helps.
