Default Taylor 320e SEB on its way

Oh boy!!!

A NGD is on its mayden voyage to its final resting place here in TN. It’s a Taylor 320e SsEB. Never owned a hog topped guitar before, so we will see how it plays on Friday. I performed the worst guitar sin anyway. I ordered a guitar without playing one first. It seems it’s an exceptional sounding and made instrument based on the reviews. I figured with Taylors brightness and warm sound you get from the hog top, seems like a sure winner to me. Haven’t had any luck with spruce tops, let’s try hog for a while.

Taylors I find are very consistent guitars. You likely won't be disappointed.

You ever play a hog top before? Or did you just say "let's try something new" and blindly order it? Cause that seems like a bad idea. (I personally don't like hog on some guitars)

That being said, congrats!

You did two things right! You ordered a Taylor with a hog top. You won’t be disappointed

The combination of Mahogany and the Taylor voicing is actually quite nice from my experience, warms them up a bit.

I own three Taylor guitars now that I bought or traded for without playing and I love all three of them. You’ll love it!

I guessing you'll like it. I recently acquired a 324ce and it's similar to a 514e I had with mahogany back/sides, woody with lots of midrange. But also different in that I can get it to be a little punchy, somewhat like rosewood. I'm presuming this is from the taz blackwood. So in my mind it's kind of a tweener.

I was in a guitar store a month or so ago to specifically play two Martin 00-15Ms they had in stock. I played a few other Martins and some Taylors and was about to leave when I spotted something different, your guitar. I had never played a Taylor mahogany dread before, I fell in love, seriously. Of all the guitars I played that day that was the one I was most impressed with. I should have bought it but wasn't looking for a dreadnaught.

Congratulations on your purchase, you're gonna love it.

I really like the hog-topped Taylors and don't think you will be disappointed. The more I play mine the more I like it.

The only hog topped guitar ive played was a Martin D15m back in the day when I didn’t know any difference in guitars...so, yeah.

I figured with the wood choices, the hog top should take off some brightness to the guitar and warm it up some.

Do you all think this guitar will be good at some flat picking?

I came to the same conclusion and bought the Taylor...although it was close!
I think this is a case of the Taylor's inherent brightness working in its favor (...this time), as hog tops can sound a little 'murky', and we don't like murk.

Wise purchase...

Well, it’s here. Had to miss a day of work so I could sign for it. Luckily I didn’t have to wait to long, it was delivered around 12 pm.

This thing is a monster. This is the exact tone I have been looking for ever since I took playing guitar 8 years ago. Turns out that im not a fan of sitka. The hog top I think gives the Taylor it’s depth that so many of them lack. Can’t believe it’s taken this long to find the one. This one isn’t going anywhere.

The 32X models are something special. Silky smooth, articulate, and amazing players.

I bought a 320 last year, and sent it to my brother-in-law. He's a long-time player, and loves it.

Similarly, my 324ce is a beast, and a flawless instrument with a beautiful, unique voice.

Enjoy!!!!!
