Absolutely the best advice.

Waited 15 months for my Olson, glad I did…it's now 25 yrs old and the best guitar I own. Waited nearly a year for my Bashkin, glad I did…it's now 14 years old and the second best guitar I own.

I'm guessing a Collings is worth the wait.

Probably not a real appropriate comparison considering you're talking about guitars mostly made by one person and Collings is a now a pretty large production operation with exponentially more capacity than Jim alone in his shop for 6 months of the year that he works (now...he probably worked around the calendar in your day, but same difference).

Thanks everyone, I heard back and Angela from Collings told my retailer that it is just a lot of orders, and to expect it in March. It is in the finish process, so glad to hear and still anxious!

When I ordered a guitar custom made from a luthier, I was quoted ten months for delivery time. When I turned out closer to fourteen months than ten, my friends said, "Luthier Time." It happens. I can't think of anything that could happen that would cause a guitar to be ready earlier than promised, but practically everything that can happen will delay the instrument.

Good news! Let's hope it gets through finish and final QA ok and is in your hands next month. As LJ said...it'll be worth the wait.
