Default New Acoustic guitar day!

Actually last week, I received an order from Sweetwater based on a very favorable review I read in VG magazine, as well as numerous reviews online. It is a new Epiphone Masterbuilt De Luxe Classic. I am happy to say I like it very much! Could not figure out how to attach a photo to this post however.

Welcome & Congrats on your new guitar, not knowing how long you've played, make sure you get it *properly* set up, it will make a big difference in your playing comfort level.

The stock photo does it justice. its the one horizontal in the top of your photos, vintage sunburst, with F holes.

Herman, the guitar was setup by Epiphone prior to shipping to Sweetwater, however Sweetwater also does a 55 point inspection and makes certain it plays easy before they ship it to the customer. I am pleased to say the setup is absolutely perfect! Unlike my Martin and my Gibson which BOTH had to be taken to my guitar tech for a good setup. Thanks!

sweet looking guitar, i've been interested in getting my hands on a floating brigde something or other for a while, i didn't know these existed, definitely going to check these out.

I assume laminate back/sides(as some high end arch tops have also)?
Is the top/back arched, or is this more a flat top model?

Whats your review of the tone, sustain or not, projection?

thank you for posting, beautiful instrument

Nice one. Maybe try some semi wound, or flat wound, or nickel strings during your first few months?

Unplugged, the tone is crisp, midrangy, the bass is a bit understated but you would expect that. It is definitely louder than I expected it to be without the center hole. Sustain is great. It has a very sweet sound. I plugged it in once to make sure the electronics worked properly, and they do indeed. That pickup sounds wonderful, and doesn't shade the guitar tone at all.

Thank you bluesfreak. Sweetwater had this for $649 and with the fabulous case (not kidding, this is the nicest case I have ever owned) vintage style, it was $798. 36 months 0 interest, I can have this paid off much sooner, or just ride it out. I love Sweetwater they are sooo thorough and customer centric. I say go for it. The natural finish looks amazing too! Should have bought one of each!

Tippy, I will definitely experiment with flat wounds once I get to my first string change. It was shipped with Cleartones, 12-53
