Default G7 3rd Generation Performance Capo - I am impressed!

I am admittedly a long time fan and user of the 1st generation G7 Performance Capos as well as the G7 Nashville Capo. I had the chance to use get the new Generation Performance Capo and I really like it. I am finding that the pressure/sensitivity is remarkably consistent throughout all strings and I really don’t need to re-tune or even “touch up" the guitar after putting on the capo. I love the slimmer aesthetics and it feels “lighter” to me. I will definitely be buying a few of these.

The new Performance 3 Capo with the ART technology is amazing. I was fortunate enough to try one awhile back and it has replaced the Performance 2 I was using.

It keeps all my strings in tune as I capo around. It’s phenomenal!

I think they’ll be made available next month? Something like that.

Thanks for the positive comments!
They're available on the G7th website now but, as yet, we don't have the engraving option available in the Custom Shop... worth waiting for as AGF members would get the engraving foc...

Nick,

I’ve logged into your site and I hit a “buy now” button for the Performance 3 and all I see is “available from March 2019” - there’s no evident add to cart option showing up. So, if they’re available on the website, how?

Thanks - I’m quite anxious to try one of these capos! Not at all concerned about engraving...

-Ray

I have to say that I'm more than happy with my Performance II (which replaced my P1), so although the III is an intriguing design I'm not sure I can justify the cost if it works no better (or the same). I've been using G7th for more years than I care to remember. It's a great product, a lovely example of form and function working together, and customer service is impeccable.

My sentiments exactly. As well as my P2, I also love my G7th Newport capos - I have the six-, five-, and three-string Newports, and they are superb.

And their customer service is second to none.

The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.

I see the Performance 3 on the G7 website, but there doesn’t seem to be an option to purchase. Still says available in March. I’m a big fan of the G7 Heritage, but haven’t had as good luck using the Performance models with some of my guitars that have compound radii or 20” radii, so I look forward to giving this one a try.

I loved my Performance 2 when I first got it, but then the clutch started giving out - it was not holding tight. G7th quickly replaced it, but now my replacement seems to be going the same way - has anyone else had this recurring issue?
The other night someone asked to borrow my guitar at the open mic I host, then asked about a capo, I had my P2 there, but told her to use her own, *** I was concerned that she would not be able to cinch up the P2 to avoid buzz or dead strings.
Other than the 'adaptive radius' thing, the P3 seems to be pretty much the same as the P2.

I'm also eager to try one of these. I have the 1st generation G7th and a G7th Nashville. The radius on my Rainsong is very different from that on my Gibson, so it'll be interesting to see how the Generation 3 performs.

Mike, I believe G7 is still a Sponsor here. Nick is a good guy. In fact he's sent a few freebee P3s out for testing and feedback, and you get to keep the capo.

I'd contact Nick via PM here on AGF.

If you have trouble, let me know. I believe I have his direct email address, as we do talk occasionally.

If needing my assistance, I am too busy to always be on the Forum. Do please email me directly at charmedlifepicks @ gmail, and happy to help.

take care,
scott memmer

I did place an order last month and I did get a confirmation email but I don’t think it will ship before March.

Best,
Jayne
