Default Question for Shubb users

I have a couple of gift cards and some Christmas money I haven’t spent yet, and noticed Strings and Beyond has a 15% off accessories sale. I figured it would be a good time to try some new things.

I didn’t know Shubb had so many models. What is the difference between the S1S, C1, C1K, and C1B?

Thanks for any help.

This is very helpful, from their website.

I had a Shubb for years. I 'lent' it to a friend, and we all know how that goes

For the last several years, I've used a D'Addario Tri-Action (I think that's what it's called - it's not quite the same as the current models), quite happily. A couple of weeks ago I found myself in our local Guitar Center, while my wife was in the sewing store a few doors down. (Yes, that is a dangerous combination.) I was browsing accessories, and decided it was high time to add another Shubb to the collection. I picked up this C1K, and am very happy I did. It just works, and it doesn't get in my way quite as much as the D'Addario.

Thanks for the comments!

I just ordered the Shubb C1B and a Daddario NS lite. We’ll see how much I like them after they come in. I may also order a pack of Daddario Nickel Bronze strings that come with the Daddario Tri action capo.

I got three Shubbs. I love them! Even pressure. Little force needed. Lightweight and slim. Not too expensive.

I have oh, three or four of them. One has the new roller design tension adjustment. I like the old rubber tip type better, seems easier to get it just right.but that is just me.

I have the roller one. It works great, and on my LL16 I don't need to adjust it at all, I just screw the wheel all the way out and it's a perfect fit all along the fretboard. Such a neat, well executed design; I've had several Shubbs over the years.

I find the roller to be far preferable to the little cone shapped tip one.

Mine are both 12-string versions. The standard 6 is a bit short for some necks.

I have several and think they are awesome - light, low profile and quick to adjust. I also have the stirrup model and think it is every bit the equal of the more expensive G7 stirrup.

The only thing I think Shubb could do to improve it is to offer radius specific models eg 16", 20" etc for a perfect fit on guitars with a constant radius fretboard.

I received my Shubb C1 today along with several other goodies I ordered. I’m figuring out adjusting the tension for different frets, but I really like it so far. It does sound good.

The Daddario NS lite isn’t bad for a sub $10 capo either.
