AT2035 and ST170 test
Here's a demo of the AT2035 large diaphragm on the 12th fret and the ST170 ribbon mic on the bottom bout:
I have them in close. I think they sound clear, but without the sharp, almost brash, sound of my small condensers. I did a little delay and normalization, but otherwise no eq. I think the recording in my signature was done with just the Zoom H5 and with heavy noise reduction.

I have a couple of the patterns down well enough to use them in some of my songs like the one I sent you a little while ago. Then I got “If You Could Read My Mind” by Gordon Lightfoot stuck in my haed and “had” to learn his picking pattern in that song to make it go away. While not a true “Travis” pattern, it has proven useful. Hanson’s book paired with a metronome has been the way to go for me.
