Default Bose T1 mixer is pretty darn cool with a K10

Just an FYI. Before I start, I know the downsides to this mixer (not enough inputs, more expensive than others, etc.). However, I have been looking for something that I can use for solo acoustic gigs with just me singing and playing. I bought a QSC K10 a couple of weeks ago and loved the tone of my Alvarez Yairi plugged straight in, but I wanted some effects. I researched mixers and various pedals but had the chance to try out the Bose T1 through the big bose system at a shop. Sounded great! I thought I'd experiment and see what the Bose T1 sounded like through my K10. It's exactly what I was looking for. It's easy to use, sounds great and the effects are very good. I know there are cheaper options, but this sounds really really good to me.

So if anybody is wondering, this is a pretty good pair. I know I could have bought the L1 compact for just a bit more than the K10, but I feel like this is more versatile. Sounds better than any of the acoustic amps I tried out (Fishman and Genz Benz).

The Bose ToneMatch T1 is a cool mixer! Glad you like it!

Yes... the T1 is MUCH more than "just a small mixer without a lot of inputs"!

I use mine as a front-end with my AER Compact 60, when I'm playing both 12 and 6 string guitars (along with vocals) for a performance; lets me have each channel dialed in, both guitars eq'd to my tastes...

I think I would use this as a front-end with any system I'd play through...

Agreed. I've been looking for a used one in good shape to use with my system. I'm happy with the units I have, but I've always LOVED the way my vocals sound through the Bose unit.

Last night, for a private party of about 50 people, I used my T1 through a Schertler Jam 200 plugged straight into it's FX return channel. It sounded GREAT! For vocals, I had the analog delay setup for a nice slapback. and the digital delay set up for nice subtle longer delays. And the EQ, both the three band and the parametric, really helped in getting a good guitar tone in a problem room. I also used the Mod section Phase Shifter for a great rhythm tone on the Hendrix song Angel.

And the lit display made it much easier to read then the very hard to read individual channel controls on the Schertler!

Although not a fan of the Bose L1 systems in general, I love the T1 and use it with many different powered speakers.

Do you use the Tonematch settings if you're not using a Bose system? Seems to me that the Tonematch settings are designed to work with the L1 and Compact and might not work so well with a regular pa.

My biggest complaint with the T1 is it's lack of high pass filters on the input channels. I don't miss it with the smaller B1 subwoofer, and probably wouldn't notice on a guitar amp either, but with the larger B2 sub there is often too much stuff below 100hz that just sounds boomy.

I love the T1. In addition to great sound, the reverb is great. It's my go to DI/preamp, especially when there is no sound guy/gal going me reverb. When there is, I use the Headway.

Hi Jenn, do you still use your BagAmp for any solo gigs, and, if so, with or without the Bose T1 Tonematch Audio Engine? Thanks.

Yes the Tonematch settings for the Beta 87a, J45, and Kick Drum, seem to work fine for me when using the Schertler JAM200. I do tweak the presets a bit with the EQ (both the EQ and the ParaEQ), but they are good starting points.

It's worthwhile to go on the Bose sight and download some of the different guitar tonematch profiles.
