Default NGD - Taylor 717e

Love the sound, love the neck, still getting acquainted but it will be hard to go back to sharp edges and splinters!

Did I say I love it?

Interesting shape - not a jumbo, not a dread.
Tasteful appointments - I really like it.
Nice one.

Happy new guitar day. I've heard those are among the best Taylor's made nowadays. Enjoy!

That looks very classy, with an exceptional set of rosewood. Congratulations.

I have played 2 of the 717s and really liked the sound of both. I know exactly what you are referring about "no more splinters". The rounded edges and the finish make it the smoothest, softest feeling guitar I have ever held, a real treat. Congratulations

Thanks all!

Still very early days yet, and a lot of new things to get a handle on. Which is why I got it.

Obviously, there will probably be a 617, an 817, 917 and presentation/limited editions to come in this shape. But after a couple of days with the Builder’s Edition extras, I hope they start doing Grand Concert Builder’s Edition V-Class in some nice wood, though I don’t care, as long as they do some! This one is like a comfy set of leather gloves or even a leather steering wheel, not sure but I like!

But that is the future perhaps and right now I have this wonderful new guitar to explore. P.S. the ES2 sounds great plugged direct to my Boss VE8, must be a good impedance match with the pickup system, not so pleased with it direct to my mixer but I have gadgetry to try! (Tonedexter).

Beautiful! I'm hoping to try out at least one of the Grand Pacifics during my trip to Elderly in May.

I sure hope they make a 917e with an arm bevel! Congrats on a beautiful guitar.

I'm curious as to why the strap pin is installed through the back of the guitar instead of in the neck heel. When I first saw it I thought that someone had made a mistake on the installation. it seems like the strap could twist off from the pin in this method.

Beautiful slope shouldered dred btw.
