Default Honduran rosewood 000 with 3 bevels

I finished this spec guitar early this spring and sold it at the Swannanoa Gathering before I had a chance to take pictures of it. The new owner did take pics and just mailed them to me last night, so I thought I would share this build.
The top is bear claw European spruce, bindings, bevels and purifying are cocobolo.

The fret markers are bone that show on the face and on the edge of the fingerboard

That looks amazing, John! Really a beautiful combination of woods...

Don't know that I've ever seen a bevel for the leg before--looks very comfy.

Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you kindly Neoman. The only REAL reason to put a bevel on the leg side is the really cool hour glass symmetry it gives the back when you look at it straight on.

Ah ha!! NOW I KNOW where my bearclaw euro went The story must have gone something like this...I tell John I want a guitar with some really sweet Euro with bearclaw. John finds said wood and puts it away for me. John then later decides to build a spec guitar. Upon searching his stack of exotic woods, he spies a very cool piece of Euro spruce and says to himself... "That will make a splendid guitar!!" And it did!! Nuff said lol

Nice guitar John!! I can almost see a hologram of my face in that top wood ha!

Very nice, John! I would like a Honduran rosewood guitar. Not much of it around, is there?

Smile Another Big Boss Axe

John's 12 frets are magic boxes...

This is a real beauty! I have similar fret markers on my recent JK and I LOVE the high visibility. I am confused enough as it is... haha

Congratulations to the owner! If he is not STOKED I will be amazed.

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Mike. By the way, I have a piece of Euro spruce that you picked out with your name on it. Literally. This box has been under construction for so long that it was probably braced up when you and Rob paid a visit. You can have BC euro but this piece has always had another destiny.

I have several sets. One set is particularly interesting because it's Very well quartered. I found the wood in an old wood store in no-where Texas. one of those planks that got misplaced, covered in dust, standing in a corner amongst the mesquite planks. It's been cut for some time and I feel sure it has an interesting history but that's as long gone as the store.

Thanks Paul.
Those markers are easy to see aren't they. I bought a bunch of bone saddles that were too small and didn't send them back so now they are showing up in various places from time to time

Well now, THAT is a relief!!

Great work on this guitar John. As Paul said...your 12 fret AND 14 fret guitars just rock with tone, and they are a beauty to behold

Signed, Woody...honorary member of the John Kinnaird admiration society ha!!

Looks great bro. Have you considered a bevel on the peghead?
