Default Building stand

So my friend built me this stand - is there any type of thin cloth I can put over the Velcro that is smooth and thin??? The Velcro seems to shed but I can't take it off cause it is glued on there. Below is a pic.

I would definitely remove the velcro. If you are going to cover it anyway, peel it off and then the new fabric will cover the glue. The velcro might be from a roll and be self-adhesive.

I would definitely go with real cotton felt from the fabric store.

Whats the bottom part look like where it contacts the guitars?

Buy some soft low pile carpet remnant and some contact cement and cover the whole stand.

Be careful! Some foams react with nitrocellulose lacquer finishes.

Be careful what foam and what carpet fibers you use. Many foams and synthetics, including carpet fibers, will react with (attack) nitrocellulose finishes.

Cotton will not.

You might try a hair dryer to assist in removing the Velcro and foam.

Hi kf

I'd lose the velcro and use felt.

You can get self adhesive felt at Home Depot, normally used as drawer liners.
