Julio Iglesias, En El Olympia. Such a cheeseball, but I love it.

Shaun Cassidy. "WASP"

Cassidy's teen idol career had run it's course, so he enlisted Todd Rundgren to help reinvent himself as a more "adult" artist ("New wave" was big in 1980.) Rundgren and his band Utopia provided the music and the backing vocals. Most of the songs were covers, except for a few Rundgren originals. Songs by Ian Hunter, Davide Bowie, David Byrne, and Pete Townshed, among others.

It's actually not a bad album. I use to enjoy playing it for people and getting them to commit to "Hey, that's pretty good" comments before showing them the cover.

You will find it under "Rundgren" in my record collection, along side "Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell," for similar reasons.

What's an album?

Seriously, though... Jimmy Buffet and Jack Johnson are probably the two that come to mind as potentially embarrassing. And I am limiting myself to vinyl for this response.

100% streaming, so I can play everything w/o owning anything. My music tastes are very eclectic and range across many genres.

Last year, my Spotify year in review:
24,191 minutes (19,134 in 2020)
824 artists (663 in 2020)
79 music genres (237 in 2020)

That being said, I'm not ashamed of owning any of my albums (physically or virtually).

I'm not sure why ABBA get's so much derision. Or Air Supply. Or Nickelback. Or 'fill in band you love to hate'. I'd love have a fraction of the talent, fame and fortune of any of those guys and gals have/had.

For me I'd have to say Madonna's 'Like A Virgin' album (CD, actually) which I bought because I had just bought one of the very first CD players available and there were literally a handful of CD's you could buy and of those ONLY the Madonna album (which was brand new) was FULL DIGITAL!

So, I bought it to 'hear' the full digital sound reproduction which was, admittedly, excellent. It was an okay album as well. But nothing I'd brag about being an old rock and roller.

Not only not embarrassed, I still play them (when in my car as cassettes; I made cassette copies of my albums/CD's).

ABBA - greatest hits
The Carpenters - Greatest hits; and their Xmas double CD
Madonna - Like a Virgin (I do think it's a fine suite of songs)
John Denver - 3 or 4 albums (people used to tease me about these)
