Our friend Tad and his wife Nancy dropped by today to go Christmas shopping with Linda and I. The ladies took some time to get ready, so I had time to cut the dovetail mortise in the latest guitar. Tad has a new iPhone 14 Pro and video'd the process. Here is the 8 minute real time uncut version:

This amuses me. If you look closely enough, even my best work seems a bit rough.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Bruce! Hope you get out on your Bingham, especially since Brad is probably buried in snow—get in a ride for him!

Aloha Bruce,
What are the back and side woods on the JB-CN? It looks like a splendid instrument.

The family have returned home from spending the recent holiday with Linda and I. There was a new addition, a 12 week old puppy, which added greatly to the feeling of cheer. Despite her getting most of the attention, my dog Koal was quite cordial with "Jasmine".
I have more guitars than I know what to do with, but continue to work. What else can I do, write? Today I buffed out the body of the Adi/BRW JB-16 that completed the finish process a month ago, and will now pass for "cured". While not exactly straight grained, it is actually quarter-sawn and lacks visible run-out. I love the way the flamed bit is framed. Ought to be playable next week!
