I had nothing to lose, so I narrowed the neck and replaced the fret board and bridge. It astounds me how much better this guitar sounds than my Cordoba.

thats a beaut! congrats ,nice job!

I had a Taylor Academy nylon for a short time. I thought it sounded and played well in the store but after a while i realized it sounded thin and to be honest was no longer impressed with the build. I really think you're over paying for the name.
I do have a Cordoba Fushion that I have enjoyed but still prefer my Godin Etude. The slightly larger nut width and larger 24' radius fret board is perfect in my opinion.
