Default And So It Goes

Here's my recent try at another Tommey Emmanuel song that I enjoy. At first I just thought it would be a good fingers-only exercise, but as I got into it, I found it to be more difficult than it sounds. The feel and timing are tough to nail down and I find that the slower the tune, with the more "holes" in it, the harder it is to do it justice. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Anyway, I recorded this last night with just a Rode Nt4 Stereo mic going into a Mac Book with no effects or EQ, just straight guitar. Any comments or suggestions are welcome! Thanks for listening!

Guy

Very nice recording. Where did you get the transcription, BTW, or did you tab it yourself?

I just picked it up by ear, slowed the recording to get the tricky parts down, but genereally I just listened to it a billion times until I could hear the full song in my head. (Not very scientific, but it works for me...) Thanks for the feedback. Guy

Guy,

Good job on the song! We must have the same taste in music, I just started learning this song this past weekend. I listened to the other songs on your site and enjoyed them. You have tackled some tough songs (Tommy Emmanuel versions) and done them well. I especially liked the harmonics in When You Wish Upon a Star.

Thanks for sharing your music and welcome to the forum!
