Talking Man I just bought Robby's Natural Maple TA Crowdster

I have never owned or played a Crowdster but based on never having heard any kind of negative comment about them I decided to take the leap. I will no doubt be selling my T5 now. And let me just say that I was very happy with the T5. The main reason I went with the Crowdster over the T5 at this point is because I never use the electric settings on the T5.

I will defend the T5 as a good hybrid with a very unique tone...neither very acoustic nor very electric. From what I have read and heard on the TAC though it is all acoustic. Some have even claimed a studio miked sound. Man I can't wait!

I will list my T5 with pics later on today in the appropriate section.

Jim

Anybody got a recorded clip of the acoustic side of the Crowdster...I need a fix until mine gets here man! I've already watched all my David Crowder vids and I've worn youtube out watching Earthworm.

Hi Hoo! The "Electrified" Forum can be slow some days. I'm sure you'll get some replies - lots of TA/Crowdster fans out there...

Hey hey another Anderson owner! I've got an '06 Crowdster Plus and man... brings a smile to my face every time I play it. The acoustic sounds like whatever you want it to depending on how you choose to EQ it. Bass response is amazing, very little quack and wow. Here's my signal chain if you're interested:

Acoustic: Crowdster --> A/B/Y box ---> BBE Acoustimax ---> SWR Strawberry Blonde
Electric: Crowdster --> A/B/Y box ---> Boss ME-50 ---> Blues JR

It's such a cool instrument! Ever wonder what cranking the volume all the way up without worrying about feedback feels like?? Welcome to the club

Yeah man I'm pumped. I love the sound of the SWR's. I went with the Fishman LoudBox b/c in the end it had exactly what I was looking for: small, clear tone, and easy to use (I confuse easily when presented too many options). I will admit that out of the box the Strawberry Blonde has the better tone. I run mine through a K4 Preamp then into the LB.

Here's how I roll it:

Crowdster-->XT Live-->Taylor K4 Preamp-->Fishman Loudbox 100

Rock on bro...

Jim

i am a huge fan of anything made by Tom Anderson.

To be quite honest, im not a huge fan of David Crowder's live tone (although it has improved in recent years)

the first time i was truly blown away by a Crowdster was when a worship leader came to my church and plugged his Crowdster into a cheap PA system with nothing between the guitar and mixer but a 1/4inch cable.

when i say it blew me away, i mean it utterly destroyed me

the bass response was warm and solid,
the mids were not at all quacky but rich, smooth, and buttery
and the trebles were shimmery and very organic sounding.

good choice! i hope you are happy with your future guitar.

p.s. im not ragging on David Crowder, i love his band to death

Thanks for the comments Mike. I will be sure to post feedback once I get it and I'm able to put it down! Love the DCB! I'm going to try to catch them a couple of times when they come to the Commonwealth this year.

I'm currently at school at Vtech and I'm planning on going to the March 29th (Saturday) concert at Thomas Road in Lynchburg, VA, near Liberty University.

Yep. I'm going to try to make that show. At the very least I shall see them at KingsFest at Kings Dominion. You can't beat $10 to go to a rock show...especially a worship leader like DC.

Enjoy. I actually toyed with the idea of buying one of those two myself!

Congrats on the Crowdster! You won't be disappointed. Here are some video clips of my Crowdster (and my duo partner's Crowdster) in action.
