Collings’ SJ guitar, or small jumbo, is the perfect all around versatile instrument. Although the 16 inch lower bout is slightly wider than a dreadnought, and the sides almost as deep, the tighter curve at the waist creates a different sound chamber accentuating the mid range while keeping a robust bass and clear tonal spectrum throughout.

This 2014 near mint custom features the great optional and dynamic wood combination of German Spruce and Indian Rosewood with Adirondack bracing adding to the complex palate of tone and increased response overall. Built in the short scale configuration with 1 3/4″ nut width and 2 1/4″ saddle spacing, it’s very comfortable to play with lower overall tension while not sacrificing any of the volume or warmth characteristic of this build. Also features custom Abalone rosette and Gold Waverly tuners and no fretboard or extra headstock inlays.
