Default San Diego guitar stops?

Going there in a couple months. Any guitar stores worth checking out?

The Taylor Factory is 20 mins away. Is it worth a look? They have a room to allow guitar pawing? Factory tour?

The Taylor factory (free tours weekdays at 1pm - check the website for details) is the best thing you can see in San Diego guitarwise. Yes, completely worth it and then some. They have a room full of all models they have and that's where the roughly one to one and a half hour tour starts and ends.

As far as guitar shops...so many have closed in San Diego City the past few years. There's only Mark's Guitar Exchange as the alternative to Sam Ash and Guitar Center. Top40 Guitars is in Santee (a little farther than Taylor) as well as Moze Music in La Mesa (about 10 minutes from Taylor). Good luck...San Diego is a guitar playing town and clearly leans Taylor but I have no idea where people still buy any of them.

Guitars San Diego is small ,but has super nice high end selection and are good guys. I've stopped in twice. It;s in some business park where you;d never expect them to be and kinda out of the way ,but worth the stop in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. The Taylor tour was more than worth the time. Awesome to see the size of the operation and the few people that I got to see doing their tasks.

The guitar rooms were exceptional. I played everyone I could. Fell in love with a 500 series I believe with no cutaway. I must have pawed it 4 times.

I wish The Blue Guitar was still open in Pacific Beach. I went in there every summer for years and years. Breakfast at Kono's, lunch at Taco Surf and a stop at The Blue Guitar. Times were good.
