Curious about cheap soundhole pups; apples, oranges, and durian.
I know these are all very different other than being really inexpensive. First out of the gate is that I'm curious about the difference between the Dean Markley "Pro Mag SC-1" and the "ProMag Plus XM", either of which can be had for $20.
Next up are these cheapo generics... I have a couple of GFS pups in my electrics and am quite happy with them. https://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Cur...er_p_6428.html An interesting one here with a "description" that utterly defies description. I don't have a clue how to decipher it; truly mind boggling. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...UOWFDQG8&psc=1 Cheap and thoroughly generic looking. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...2BNLQXX6&psc=1 The cheapest soundhole pups ever? https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Acoust...ct_top?ie=UTF8 This is the one that I would spend real money on if I were considering a permanent install; "real money" for me, anyway. https://www.amazon.com/Gretsch-Delto.../dp/B07CCYHJ6T Last edited by Optofonik; 04-29-2019 at 02:31 PM. |

The $25 rosewood one looks to have an electret mic too!
A buddy of mine had a GFS UST + condenser blender system in a 'hog guild that sounded very good. The particular GFS one here is designed to be used in conjunction with their (or any other compatible) preamp -- not as a standalone unit.

That's what caught my eye about it. Well, that and the "Homelamd" branding. How bout that description, though? Hard to resist that; whatever "that" is.

You mean the female part that converts mechanical vibrations to an electric signal? What's there to resist about that, whether male or female you should have 2 of those already (well, more actually)

I once used a Dean Markley Gold Mag, worked ok.. the only caution is take care when putting it in and taking it out, if you drop it on the top, you won't be happy,
don't ask me how I know this.. |
