Seems like that pic was of a guy surfing in Lake Superior a few years back - could be wrong, but it sure looks familiar.

Someone surfs Lake Superior? That has to be an extreme sport

I grew up on the northern shores of Lake Superior in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. That darn lake was freezing even in the summer!

One nice musical thing about Lake Superior is it is a lot easier singing the tenor parts if one wades in about waist deep!

I used to live in a Victorian flat in west London with no heating system and rotting wooden sash window frames.
I used to wake yup like that in winter!
Funny - never seemed to have colds back then!

Didn't want to assume you know Loudon's tune about just that....

Some mutual acquaintances know the guy in the Marquette area.

Some of us might seem a bit crazy with winter not stopping our activities. There was a time my wife and I night be windsurfing this late in the year or I'd be fly fishing.

Next up is seeing how big a crew I have to do some trail work. That tree at 47 seconds in is now across the trail. We have some work about a mile east. Of course then we'll ride. I've got at least one committed this morning. It will be beautiful regardless.

I do confess that sure I'm done with changing in or out of a wet or dry suit in the cold but hope we have a sufficiently cold and snowy winter.

My son graduated from Marquette university in May. He was a D1 student athlete so he didn’t have a whole lot of free time but he and a teammate from So California would rent wetsuits and boards and surf Lake Michigan whenever it was active...regardless of the temperature.
Funny, he moved to San Diego after graduation and lives two blocks from the beach...
