Kramster has not been an easy nephew. He's always been a bit harsh and somewhat biting, but he's family and so we hope he gets nicer as he ages (though, so far, we've seen no such sign). Well maybe a little. He's been sharing his hoard of CF guitars with interested players and has always shared his marvelous photography and marvelous subjects. So I suppose he has redeeming features.

I agree. I'd like to compare one to my X20 for a while.

Nice X30. Hope to hear your review sooner than later.

Mot;

When you get the itch, you scratch it. Keep us posted as you hummm your way to what to do.

By the way, there's a few Kestrels in Emerald's Black Friday sale, good through today (Monday). Hope that helps.

According to the video I have pretty much done my scratching as much as I should for a while in that direction. I was merely trying to help out the Enabler-N-Chief of this CF clan to start typing in a string of numbers and letters to give us something to visit when we are somewhere in AZ. Might be one with your name on too it if you ask Alistair.

My cf journey began with a couple of pre-Peavey CA’s, and then a couple of Rainsongs (ironically made in Woodinville Washington). A fan of jumbos, I was intrigued by the geometry and sheer beauty of the X30. Playing my WS-1000 last week, I noticed that the cowboy frets were showing wear...so as any good GAS afflicted carbon lover would do - I rationalized an Emerald purchase. Chloe was a great help in the process, and I am eager to report back on the “big sound” that I’ve heard so much about...stay tuned.
wouldn't a fret leveling have been the way to go???

oh wait, A reason to buy a new guitar you say?

ha! like WE NEED a reason!!

Good luck with the "Waiting"..

I'm guessing that you don't have to wait the 40 years that Kramster said. I will take a guess that your new guitar will arrive to your doorstep today or tomorrow. Keep us posted.

So you name some of your things too. My X20 is called Remmy for Red Emerald. Things I use often tend to get named eventually. I don't know what I will call the new one yet. The working name before it arrives is Woodshed because it will take a lot of practice before I can be seen in public with it without embarrassing myself.

Well, Ruby seemed to fit (at least temporarily). I like to get to know my girls before naming them, but "Ruby" rolls off the tongue easier than "Emerald X30 in red carbon".

My '72 Chevy is named "Gertie", she has earned that moniker.

Default Ruby has arrived...

Ruby has arrived...and I have something special to celebrate her advent - stay tuned. In the interim, I would humbly submit:

Believe what you read, see, and hear about the Emerald X30...it is not hyperbole.
