Heavier strings tend to reduce the tendency to buzz - more tension increases neck-relief and reduces the vibrating-arc of the string.

You’ll probably find it won’t buzz as much as it does with the 12s.

The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.

What is the action? What is the neck relief? You should get some exact numbers so that you know what numbers you're shooting for.

As said, heavier strings may add neck relief. Also, heavier strings tend to vibrate with less amplitude, which might help with the buzzing.

Sounds like you have a freshly made guitar that's settling in. Be patient.

Every guitar I bring home gets new strings, usually within an hour of arriving. Once those strings settle in, I decide how long to wait before getting the new guitar set up. Sometimes it's a week, sometimes it's a month, but every guitar gets a setup to my specs.

That's just the cost of doing business.

Just another reason I'm glad to be blessed with two really good guitar shops, both who offer setups in the deal.
