So... which one do you take for gigging? Which one for home music listening?

I no longer gig out due to carpal tunnel but both systems would be good sound-reinforcement PAs in small (JBL) to medium-size (LR Baggs Synapse) venues. I've thought about getting a second JBL EON ONE Compact for a bigger sound and to stream stereo--Yes, I'm a gear nut!

I expected the synapse to blow the compact out of the water for 4 times the price!!

Play a rather large noisy bar. The compact more a quiet restaurant type gig.?? Yes I would think (hope) no contest... |

If the Synapse is being used in a one-speaker-does-it-all setup (with the players/singers within the sound dispersion area), then feedback will be a limiting factor with respect to the sound level. I'd love to be using one for my weekly open mic, but I don't kid myself that I could use all those watts to run it crazy loud. Its the more even sound dispersion which appeals to me. If the Eon One can do the same job at a usable sound level, I'm all for the lower cost.

The LR Baggs Synapse does blow the JBL EON ONE Compact out of the water with 500 watts vs. 120 watts and with better sound dispersion. The Synpase has nice clear tone with no ear fatigue but, then again, an audience won't really notice, especially in a bar, so speakers that cost somewhat less will fit the bill in most cases.

I can see that you once had the Line 6 L2T
How does it fare against the new JBL and the Synapse? (Thanks for your time answering ) |
