I don’t know Acoustasonics in particular, but no amp should have a ‘huge pop’ when turned on and off. It’s bad for the speakers, and bad for the audience. Which is bad for you.
You might choose to live with it or get it fixed, your choice, but I can’t believe it’s normal.

Are you turning the master volume all the way down before switching it off?

Mine only makes a small sound, unnoticeable in context. I always turn volume right down, wait a few seconds – even minutes – before actually switching off and unplugging.

I have the 40 watt. Not too noticeable by itself when switched on/off but I run mine into the church sound board, so yeah, it's pretty noticeable. I try and remember to switch it on before everyone arrives and after most have left or the soundboard gets shut down.

How about using one of the Neutrik Silent cables?
That way you can unplug before switching off.
