Default question for squire owners

Have you taken off the squire logo on the headstock?
Are you embarrassed by owning a squire?
Just wondering,I have one and its a wonderful guitar

First, it's Squier, not Squire.

Second, I'm not ashamed of the logo or the instrument. My VM Tele Thinline is a great sounding and playing guitar and not "just for the money". I have an Affinity Strat and I swapped out electronics for Alnico V's - now, it definitely fits into the "great for the $" category. Have just over 100 bucks in it.

I also have a VM Strat with Seymour Duncan "designed" p'ups. It is a bit more midrange heavy than a typical Strat, but still has that shimmer and glassiness that Strats are known for. Excellent for Blues, but like most single coil guitars - not ideal for heavy rock.

I gig with both the VM Strat and Tele and busk with the Affinity Strat. They have all paid for themselves many times over.

Name brands mean nothing to me and never will.

I don't have one but I don't try to hide the make of guitars or amps.

I think Squier gets enough respect from other musicians that it wouldn't be worth devaluing the guitar by removing it.

Now on the other hand the Rogue or Mitchell brand names used by MusiciansFriend/Guitar Center...

Anyone can rock out with a “Fender”. But in the paraphrased words of Paul Simon, could you “blow that room away” playing a Squier? That’s the real badge of honor.

I have a four American made Fenders, and I love them.

But I would play a Squier with no shame if they offered a Tele Thinline in lefty. Or one of the 50s P basses in lefty. I'd be proud to play one of them.

Squiers have good wood in the necks and bodies. I'd more than likely swap electronics and pickups, and I'd check the hardware. But even such mods wouldn't cost a lot.

But the Squiers already sound pretty good. Any non-muso won't care what name is on the headstock.

Keep that decal on and be proud to play a great guitar.

My Squier Thinline Tele sounds VERY good.

I get entertainment out of the logo....my Squier has backed down the the branded Fenders my jammer friends play enough times that it gets respect these days

Squiers have really come a long way in quality. The Classic Vibe line played a large part in that.

I have two Squier CV Teles, a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar, and recently got a Squier Bullet Tele, and they are all excellent guitars - especially the Classic Vibes.

That blue Tele with the black pick guard is gorgeous! And no, if I owned a Squier, I would not remove the headstock label.

All four of the above Squiers are just wonderful to look at. I do however keep finding myself drawn to that ubiquitous sunburst Telecaster. Is it the body binding, or that dark, dark fretboard? Whatever it is, like Steve McQueen, its the king of cool.

Absolutely not at all embarrassed by the Squier logo, I bought mine new in '85 ('57 Re-issue Strat) & it was manufactured in '83 so got enough vintage of it's own now.

It was one of the JV series, prior to that the same plant was putting together Japanese built Fenders labelled on the h/s as "Fender by Squier" which then changed to "Squier by Fender" (funnily enough).

All the hardware is from the same origin as American built Fenders at the time right up to the Fullerton pickups. It's a great guitar with classic strat tone & playability. I'm not parting with it anytime soon.

Not a chance and would not remove the Epiphone logo either!

Man, that bound Classic Bound Telecaster of yours is something else.
