Default A friend of mine found out that "Old Guitar" he had was a '57 Strat

A friend of mine was looking for things he could sell to help pay for the care of his 95 year old father. He thought, "I wonder if that old guitar is worth anything?" He was pleasantly surprised it turned out to be a '57 Strat worth $30k! He had bought it for $150 back in the 60s.

Very cool.

Wow, very cool indeed! Unfortunate if he has to sell it to care for his father, but even in that situation it's better to have owned and lost than to have never owned at all!

If I was you, I'd be wishing that I had offered him $1000 for it years ago!

I didn't even know he had that "old guitar" laying around. But I'm glad it worked out the way it did.

Cool story. Kinda reminds me of the kid who did some chores for an elderly woman. In payment, she offered the kid "that old motorcycle, out in the barn". The kid contacts Harley-Davidson, providing the serial-number of the bike, and a short while later, the kid gets a call from the president of Harley-Davidson. "Are you SURE about that serial number?" says the caller. Turns out that this Harley was registered to one "Elvis Presley".

The kid appeared on the Tonight Show, with Jay Leno, and I believe Jay Leno bought the bike for $1 million.

Funny how things work out, isn't it? Has he been able to sell the guitar yet, or is he in the process of doing so?
